I grew up with Keeshonds as my father had first owned the breed when he was a student at veterinary school and went on to breed and show a number of successful dogs. I showed the breed as a child and teenager and was involved with the breeding of all the 'Valsgate' Keeshond litters. When I went to university I took with me a young Keeshond called Moppet (Valsgate Curlew) who was with me throughout her life. Moppet went everywhere - attending lectures and seminars and generally joining in with the social scene. After university I met my husband Chris who was determined to own a Siberian Husky. Siberian Husky racing took over from showing and both Chris and I have been successful in racing the breed over the last 40 years. We currently own four Siberians and a Jack Russell Terrier, however my devotion to the Keeshond breed remains. I have given CCs in Siberians and Keeshonds for many years and have judged both breeds at Crufts.
